Fuel Injection Tuning Services
for Sportsman Racers

Hurting parts?  Blubbering down the track?

When you purchase your first mechanical injection system, the guys on the tech line have a very rudimentary understanding of pressure differentials and flow in how it relates to air being moved through the motor.  Unfortunately, this gets you a tune up which is often far from where it needs to be to run clean, or in a worst case situation, run at all.

So, the next logical step is to take it to the message forums.  There you can ask to your hearts content for free, and typically get about 10 different answers from 10 different people, most whom are anonymous.

Finally, you consider professional help and turn to the big guys for answers.  The problem there is that for a sportsman racer, the prices are out of reach.

Need help?  Read on!

In 1992, I cobbled together my first mechanical injection system.  It consisted of 4 nozzles, and a single 4-5/16" stack throttle body with an old Hilborn barrel valve and Enderle pump.  The 462 made enough power with 12 PSI to push my 3800+ Lb truck into the mid 9s.

At that point, I was hooked.  Never again would I return to the carburated world.  Now, with over 12 years of knowledge on the topic, and after helping dozens of people, I feel confident enough to offer my services to the general sportsman racer.

We can provide a basic tune up for $100.00 that will get you cleanly down the track without hurting parts.  You do not need to ship any parts here for us to provide this tune up.

What we will need, however, is your honesty.  We can not provide a tune up if you do not provide honest information about your fuel system.  We will need to know the following information:

1. Engine CID
2. Blower Size (std or hi-helix)
3. Overdrive or Underdrive Percentage
4. Shift RPM & Max RPM
5. Mechanical Compression Ratio (Dynamic preferred)
6. Actual Gallons Per Minute (GPM) of Pump @ 4000 Pump RPM
7. Actual Flow of Nozzles (We will need a list of all nozzles you have)
8. Your Local Racing Weather (Temp in F, Humidity, Barometric Pressure)

If you need your nozzles/jets/pump flowed, there are many companies out there offering this service.  The most economical for the sportsman racer is probably going to be Enderle or Hilborn.

What we will provide:

A report showing total theoretical compression, fuel flow required by the engine at your maximum RPM, recommended fuel pump size, projected boost level, projected fuel pressure, and the specific bypass jet to run with each tune.

We will do this at 3 different blower drive levels, and 3 different weather conditions for each blower drive level.  This will give a total of 9 tune ups depending on weather and blower drive.

It would be in your best interest to purchase a weather station that can calculate jet changes based on current weather.  Once your injection system is fine tuned by plug readings, the weather station will assist in keeping that specific tune up, no matter the weather conditions.  This allows repeatability pass after pass.

This is a unique service, that to our knowledge, nobody else in the industry offers.  The big guys offer flow/tuning services that can run in the thousands of dollars.  For most racers, this is far outside of their budget.  You're doing this for fun, not to win the Pro-Mod or Top Alcohol championship.  We can keep the costs down while helping to educate you on the fuel system.

Onsite tuning also available.  Rates start at 500.00/day + travel expenses.
